Are at home charging stations safe?

Although these charging stations are dealing with higher power levels, they are usually very safe. The only concern comes if your station is not installed properly or if the equipment itself is not from a tested and certified.

How do you install an at home charging statiom?

This depends on what kind of charging station you purchase. There are 3 levels of home charging stations with level 1 being the simplest that uses your typical 110-120 volts like most 3 prong plugins in your home. The second is a level 2 that uses a 240 volt like your dryer. The level 3 uses a much higher volt and is made for fast charging and isn’t often used in residential settings.

How fast is an at home charging station?

This depends on what level of charger you’ve installed, what kind of battery your EV has, and some other factors. But as a rule of thumb you can expect to gain 25-35 miles of range for each our of charging with a level 2 station. With a level one it can take much longer.
